That twisted old bugger Nietzsche once said, “each man must have chaos within him to give birth to a dancing star”. Acupuncture is a star born out of fashion chaos.
What began as a few mates selling vintage designer clothing and old school sneakers out of a shop in Soho’s seediest back alley in 1993, became one of the leading names in modern fashion footwear.
Now in 2009, and still in the streets of Soho; The Acupuncture story continues….
Combining the brands subversive heritage with a myriad of influences taken from the heart of street culture. Acupuncture have created a footwear and clothing collection that defies convention and laughs in the face of fashion!
Archie the Clown is causing his usual form of well-intended mayhem and the infamous teddy’s spread some ‘bear naked love’.
In a world of dodgy bankers and tin-pot dictators, Acupuncture will continue to spread it’s message of anarchic positivity and get the world chanting our mantra of:

The Autumn/Winter of 2009 will see the second collection in the re-launch of the Acupuncture brand upon the world’s high streets.
The designers Matthew Salter & Danny Willis have focused their attention to rekindling Acupuncture’s most remembered, and loved brand image, Archie the clown. Archie sums up all that is ‘Acupuncture’; he’s tough yet funny, evil yet sarcastic, anarchic yet you want to befriend him, he creates ‘Energy out of Chaos’. Come meet Archie & see what tongue in cheek scenarios he finds himself in. Love him or hate him, you’ll never forget him!
Both the footwear and apparel collections are heavily influenced by the heritage of the brand. They've not only taken inspiration from the infamous styles of the late nineties they've encapsulated the whole ethos of what the brand stood for. Most importantly bringing the styles up to date to make a commercial yet, Acupuncture unique, quirky collection.
Footwear:
Each individual style has been lovingly drawn, tweaked, rubbed out and re-drawn paying attention to every line, curve, fabric and stitch to produce the most inspirational footwear styles to be seen this season.
Classic silhouettes have been stripped naked, broken down and re-cast in the Acupuncture mould, creating styles that are familiar, but fresh. Nothing is quite as you’d expect. Make no mistake, these are streetwear staples. Forget the big brands; wear something different.

Apparel:
Sprint/Summer 2009 saw apparel as a brand new area for Acupuncture. With a very positive reaction from the first collection, Autumn/Winter 2009 will see those foundations built and seized upon. The apparel line concentrates on versatile and unusual techniques through fabrics, constructions and washes combined with up to the minute commercial trends which gives it the 'point of difference' you will struggle to find anywhere else.
The collection is weighted towards tops and consists of t-shirts, sweats, knits, jackets and denim. There are brand carriers as well as the more subtly branded pieces but don’t forget to keep you eye out for Archie the Acupuncture clown. Every piece is quirky yet fantastically commercial..
The focus for both the footwear and apparel has been on design with integrity. Blood, sweat and tears has gone into every style. The way each is individual yet the collection ties together seamlessly. Only once the garments had reached perfection did we feel the Acupuncture seal could be put upon it and worn with pride.
