More than two-thirds of Americans surveyed in early December said they are changing their family’s mode of gift-giving this year due to the recession — 37% of 1,000 adults polled by Consumer Reports’s national research center said thay they were setting spending limits for gifts this season. Another 14% said they were giving home-made gifts, 6% said they aren’t planning to exchange gifts at all and 26% said they are only giving gifts to the children in the family, according to the report, which is being released this evening.
